MIA / Genocide Last Rites For Genocide And MIA LP is the legendary 1982 West Coast / East Coast split LP, originally released on the seminal LA label Smoke Seven Records (home of JFA, Bad Religion, and Redd Cross) and never reissued or re-pressed in any format. This MIA/Genocide split LP delivers two very different sides of early 80s American hardcore. MIA was from Las Vegas, Nevada and later relocated to Southern California, going on to release albums on Alternative Tentacles, Nation Trust, and Flipside Records - known for their melodic hardcore sound and amazing vocalist Mike Conley plus pioneering melodic guitar work. Their side includes the classic punk hit I Hate Hippies plus Tell Me Why, Gas Crisis, and Cold Sweat. Genocide was an over-the-top splatter-punk band from New Jersey who sounded and looked like a band from a Mad Max movie, with tracks including Teenage Girls, Manson Youth, Bad Name, Peggy's Got A Problem, Overthrow The Government, GTO, Endless Party, and Period.
