Public Disturbance S&M 45 Live At CBGB 1984 LP is the first ever official reissue of the legendary 1983 classic S+M 7 inch from Public Disturbance, plus unreleased live material recorded at the legendary CBGB in NYC - one of the birthplaces of American Punk. This Public Disturbance LP delivers prime East Coast hardcore punk from the early 80s New Jersey band founded by Paul Cowen from Point Pleasant/Belmar in 1981. The original S&M 7 inch was released on Mutha Records, unofficially re-released on the epic Killed By Death series in the 1990s, and has gone on to become a sought-after slice of East Coast Hardcore Punk. Side 1 features the 7 inch tracks: S&M, Destroy The Fad, Do The Gilly, Eastern Seaboard Blackout, Youth Corps, Best Years Of Our Lives, and Burnt. Side 2 contains the unreleased live set from CBGB 1984. Lineup of Tom on vocals, Paul Cowen on guitar, Darryl Hell on bass (later known as DJ Hell), and John Radcliffe on drums. In their time, Public Disturbance played with Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, and Flipper at venues such as City Gardens in Trenton, Brighton Bar in Long Branch, and CBGB in New York City. The S&M single features artwork by Lori Wening who would go on to become the vocalist Inger Lorre of the proto-grunge LA punk band The Nymphs. Essential listening for fans of early 80s American hardcore, East Coast hardcore, New Jersey punk, KBD-era hardcore, CBGB live recordings, and the foundational US hardcore underground alongside Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Flipper, and Reagan Youth.
