Kansanturvamusiikkikomissio 666 LP is the legendary 1985 only studio album from the Oulu Finland hardcore/post-punk band KTMK, originally released on Barabbas Records. The band name translates to "Commission of Music for National Security." This Kansanturvamusiikkikomissio LP is one of the least mono-dimensional Finnish releases of its era - an odd amalgamation of post-hardcore punk and arty blues rock band with an anarcho-punk delivery, with the band playing everything from gravelly punk in the vein of Maho Neitsyt (Pääni, Työläisen Aurinko) to post-punk (Valaistu Risti) to full-tilt thrash (Kalinka, the title track 666) to a host of discordant experimental numbers. 18 tracks including Pääni, Valaistu Risti, Herra Rytmi, Kalinka, Meksiko, 666, Helvetti, Luontoon, Mutaiset Vedet, and more. KTMK was founded in autumn 1983 in Oulu by Jarno Mällinen on guitar, Jyrki Raatikainen on drums, Pekka Salonsaari on bass, and Antti Penttilä on vocals, and was active until 1986 - after the breakup, Mällinen and Raatikainen formed Radiopuhelimet. Comes with bilingual Finnish/English lyrics sheet. Essential listening for fans of Finnish hardcore, Suomi punk, post-punk, experimental Finnish underground music, and the foundational Finnish hardcore scene alongside Maho Neitsyt, Bastards, Kaaos, and Riistetyt.
