Kuro Complete Hardcore Damnation LP collects the complete discography of the legendary Tokyo Japanese hardcore band Kuro (白) - active from 1983 to 1986 - delivering 17 raw hardcore classics across one essential LP. This Kuro LP gathers material from all the band's vinyl releases: tracks from the Who the Helpless 8 inch flexi (1984, Blue Jug Records), the Fire 7 inch EP (1986, KPP Records), the Pinch & Ouch compilation LP (1985, KPP Records), the Kuro 7 inch flexi (1983, Blue Jug Records), and the 1983 Gig 7 inch flexi (1986, KPP Records). Though Kuro never released a full album in their lifetime, their Who the Helpless 8 inch flexi is considered one of the most feral and crushing early Japanese hardcore records. The sound resembles Fuckheads-era Gauze or G-Zet - Discharge as the base of the soup, but the playing is more precise, a little cleaner, with an emphasis on heaviness and grit rather than pure density, plus a Motörhead-esque quality and shredded vocals up there with John Brannon or Jerry A in intensity. Tracks include X / 絶望, Human Clash, Body, Who The Helpless, Selfish Cow, OiMaeda, No More No, A.N.P.R., Lightning Breaks, Furniture Fire, Dead Heat 10000V, Hey Hey Hey, Midnight Baby, Jag Out, and Top Less Go. Essential listening for fans of Japanese hardcore, Japcore, foundational 80s Japanese punk, Burning Spirits era, and the entire international hardcore underground that drew from Kuro's uncompromising vision alongside Gauze, G-Zet, Death Side, and Lip Cream.
