Doom / Cress Split LP is the legendary split album from two of UK crust punk's biggest names, originally released as a 10 inch on the great Flat Earth Records in 1998 by the mighty Sned. This Doom/Cress split LP delivers four tracks from each band - the absolute pinnacle of late 90s UK crust punk. Doom were pivotal in the rise of crust punk - the Birmingham UK band formed in 1987 whose destructive d-beat mastery and heavy fuzzy dirty sound made them one of the most inspirational crust bands ever. Cress were the Wigan UK anarcho-crust band whose slow heavy menacing sound rode in the lineage of Antisect, Flux of Pink Indians, and Killing Joke - the bands' chanted hard-hitting slogans and old-school 1-2-1-2 drum tempo fused to modern DIY punk delivering pure compassion and conviction aimed at the desecrators of our earth. Reissued on LP via Sonarize Records on heavy black vinyl in heavy board sleeve. Essential listening for fans of UK crust punk, d-beat, stenchcore, anarcho-punk, and the late 90s UK crust underground.
