Driller Killer And The Winner Is LP is the legendary Swedish crust punk/death metal band's fifth full-length album, recorded in 2000 and now reissued on vinyl via Unrest Records. This Driller Killer LP delivers 13 tracks of heavy crusty metallic hardcore d-beat punk including Man Overbored, No Rules, Fire in the Hole, Legalize Murder Now, Obsessed by Speed, Sliced, BOFG, Cyanide Kick, Lost Man Landing, Skin N Bones, Gated Communities, Loose Screws, and The No Good People. Driller Killer formed in 1993 in Malmö Sweden out of the ashes of Black Uniforms, Moderat Likvidation, and Anti Cimex - named after the Abel Ferrara horror film The Driller Killer. Heavily influenced by Discharge, Driller Killer were one of the very first bands to fuse a death metal sound into a crust punk formula - so significant that Osmose Productions created their Kron-H imprint specifically for the purpose of signing Driller Killer, Disfear, Loud Pipes, and Dellamorte to capitalize on the crust/death metal hybrid. Essential listening for fans of Swedish crust punk, d-beat, death metal/crust crossover, Anti Cimex lineage bands, and the foundational Scandinavian extreme music underground alongside Disfear, Wolfbrigade, and Skitsystem.
