Cock Sparrer Self Titled LP is the legendary London East End band's ultra-rare 1978 debut album, originally released only in Spain on Decca Records after the label dropped Cock Sparrer in the UK before issuing it. This Cock Sparrer LP gathers 10 tracks including all four singles from their 1977 Decca era - Runnin' Riot, Sister Suzie, We Love You, and Chip On My Shoulder - plus six additional demos recorded while the band worked under Orange Music. The sound captures Cock Sparrer in their earliest era, before the full Oi! transformation, blending hard rock, glam rock, pub rock, garage, and proto-punk into the foundation of what would become British street punk. The album was later reissued in the UK as True Grit by Razor Records in 1987 and as Diamonds and Pearls by DSS Records in 2000. Original lineup of Colin McFaull on vocals, Steve Burgess on bass, Steve Bruce on drums, Mike Beaufoy on lead guitar, and Garrie J. Lammin on rhythm guitar. Essential listening for fans of UK Oi!, street punk, glam punk, pub rock, and the foundational early British punk sound that pre-dated the entire UK77 explosion.
