Debut single from Angelic Upstarts, originally released in 1978 on Small Wonder Records in conjunction with Rough Trade. Two tracks: "The Murder of Liddle Towers" b/w "Police Oppression." The A-side is a direct response to the 1976 death of amateur boxer Liddle Towers while in police custody in Gateshead — the band's hometown — making it one of the most politically charged and personal singles to emerge from the first wave of UK punk. Raw, working-class, and confrontational.
